22 Degrees and Sunny

Late 2026

Standing on the back porch of my house in Brisbane, cup of tea in hand, ugg boots on.

It was a chilly night. The morning still carries it, cold and fresh, the dew beaded on the grass. But the forecast says 22 degrees and sunny, and the day means to keep its promise.

The suburbs are waking around me. From somewhere down the street comes the whisper of chimney smoke, drifting over the backyard fences. That cold air, that warm cup, that smoke from a neighbour's fire. This is that smell to me.

The fragrance we built

Standing on the back step of a Brisbane house on a winter morning. The air is cold and crisp and fresh, the sun warm on your skin, dew silvering the grass. A cup of tea steams in your hand.

The cold morning unfolds into a dry, green quiet. Warm dry wood holds the day. And under it all, far off and faint, a whisper of chimney smoke from the street beyond, the promise that the day will stay sunny.

A long, quiet goodbye to the morning.
